Very welcoming staff, breakfasts were excellent.
Functional and brand-new rooms, the views to our room which was on the top floor with a brilliant sea view were good! An electric kettle, central heating, and TV were perfect.

Fantastic location: in the middle of the city.
-
missingWrote a review on 13 Octbeachfront viewsubstantial breakfastinadequate parkingodorous roomsheating issues
The beachfront view from the rooms offers a lovely sight, perfect for watching the sunrise over the water. The breakfast served provides a solid start to your day, delivering just what's needed to keep you fueled for adventures.
Parking is woefully inadequate, with many cars boxed in and no clear direction on where to place your vehicle. Rooms have a distinct odor of dampness and mold, off-putting and indicates neglect. Heating issues are rampant. Guests have reported freezing temperatures due to heating systems shutting off in the middle of the night.

We liked the hotel and its free and excellent breakfast.
Staying here for one night was great, totally recommendable. Property was upgraded, with exceptionally nice staff and magnificent location to all main attractions easily. A wide range of food for breakfast, it was outstanding. The provided service was friendly.

Breakfast, free parking, location, friendly owner.
frosted glass in all windows, creaking floor boards, fitted bed sheets to small for bed, windows need up dating.

The live cabaret performances in the evenings provided a good and entertaining atmosphere, made our stay special.
Parking facilities could use some improvement as the organization was quite chaotic and many cars were boxed in.

Staff and owners took time out to mix with the residents, the bedroom was large, clean, warm and had a decent size shower, there was a good selection for breakfast and the food was good. Bar prices were reasonable, but would have preferred a second choice lager!. Car parking was available at the hotel and free. We would definitely book in at the Athol Hotel again.
we were put on the second and third floor which was difficult with a baby and 2 year old.....however we were late booking. You could only watch TV if you layed on one side of the double bed due to the fixed wardrobe obstructing it.

Good location, tidy room with a comfy bed, and the shower was a lifesaver after a long day. Great spot to crash for a night without breaking the bank!
The parking was a hilarious game of Tetris, I must say. I half expected to leave my car and just walk home!
